Crab Orchard Lake

Anglers must not use more than 2 poles and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing.

A paved road leading to the lake provides excellent all weather access.

Several boat ramps are available. Fishing from boats equipped with electric, or gas motor driven rigs are allowed, either can be the preferred way to fish this lake.

Electric motors, Gas motors with NO Horsepower limit are welcome. BUT ~ this lake may have special Regulations which differ from the statewide regulation. Please check the postings at the lake as you enter, or call the Illinois Department of Natural Resources number below for more information.

This lake is noted for excellent fishing, as well as, water skiing, sailboating, camping, and picknicking. The 6,965 acre lake is located three miles east of Carbondale. Best area to fish for bass ~ stumps, brush and spawn beds, but the entire lake holds great treasures for the visiting angler.
